Move of the week: Cardio Burst -- Standing Mountain Climbers Targets: Heart Rate (Fat\Calorie Burner), Anterior (front) Shoulders, Chest, Abs and Hip Flexors Step 1: Grab a pair of light weight dumb-bells (I'm using 3lbs). Before you get into first position, start by standing with your feet hip width apart with knees slight bent, standing up straight and tall (rib cage lifted, shoulders back and down away from your ears and abs engaged). Bring your arms in front of you to a 90 degree position (palms facing one another). Now that you have good starting posture, you may now shift your weight to your LEFT foot while bringing your RIGHT knee 90 degrees in front of you while extending your LEFT arm straight above your head. RIGHT arm stays 90 degrees in front of you. Step 2: With quickness, switch feet and arm position with one another (LEFT knee 90 degrees in front of you with RIGHT arm extended above head. LEFT arm 90 degrees in front of you while balancing on your RIGHT foot) to complete one rep. Repeat each side 30 times (reps). 3-5 sets throughout your entire workout. Note: Throughout the entire move remember to keep your eyes facing forward, abs engaged, shoulders pressed down and back away from your ears and breathe. Soft landing.
