Thank you! Q: Does a regular blood test show accurate Iodine levels? I started taking supplemental iodine and my doctor said my iodine levels were high so she said to stop. I eat seafood occasionally too. What should I do? A: I would suggest the Urine Iodine Loading Test. We have great success utilizing this to determine levels of Iodine. Your body does require more than iodine to successfully create thyroid hormone. Urine Iodine Loading Test: Q: I’m already taking a daily dose of Levothyroxine. Should I add iodine? Wouldn't be too much? Do I have to balance the dosage since I'm already on medication? A: I would suggest having a TSH, T3 and T4 serum test. The numbers from that assessment can be used to create a protocol. Stress can impact thyroid function. TSH, T3, and T4 Home Test: Q: Dr Bob, I am 52 and the last couple of years, I have seen my doctor several times for painful sex & decreased sex drive.
