If you're struggling to lose weight and can't quite put a finger on what may be holding you back, this video is your public service announcement. Avoid saying any of these 5 things when losing weight and I promise you'll find it much easier to actually start dropping pounds. The issue with these questions is that they represent a faulty mindset when attempting to lose weight and body fat. If you can catch yourself saying them, you'll quickly become aware of why they need to be stifled. What exercise do I have to do to get rid of this (pointing to an area of fat on your body that you don't like). The problem with this is that not only is spot reduction not possible but attempting to do so with an exercise is even more fruitless. A calorie deficit is and always will be the only way to create significant body fat loss and that comes through changes to the way you eat. Period. 2. I don't understand, I do fasted cardio every morning. Research has shown that fasted cardio does not provide any additional benefits over fed cardio. If it keeps you consistent with your conditioning, then by all means do it first thing in the morning. Just don't expect any miracles from doing it. 3. It's certainly not my diet, I'm a clean eater. One of the fastest ways to find someone that doesn't eat healthy enough is to find one that labels themselves as a "clean eater". People that eat clean, don't call it that. It's simply the way they eat. It's a lifestyle. 4. I'm following the (insert diet name) diet. We all know that diets are based on deprivation and short term tactics for dropping weight. Most people go on a diet only to eventually fall off the diet. The better approach is to find an eating style that works with your lifestyle since it will be more sustainable when you do. 5. I just want to get my beach body ready for the Summer this year. Goals that have an expiration date are always more susceptible to being terminated once that date has passed. What you did to get your body to the goal must be sustained if you want to keep the results long after reaching the goal. Choose internal motivators that aren't attached to a specific date for this reason.
