Calculating keto macronutrients can be confusing. In this video, I’ll show you how to calculate keto macros and share 5 keto macro tips so you can avoid some of the common mistakes people make on a keto and intermittent fasting program. 0:00 Introduction: What are keto macros? 0:13 How to calculate keto macros 1:27 5 keto macro tips 2:52 Fat macros for keto diet 3:45 Carbohydrates on keto Free PDF Guide - Keto Strategy Tips 👉 If you’re doing keto and intermittent fasting and eating three meals daily, try consuming your calories as follows: 5% carbs, 5% vegetables, 20% protein, and 70% fat. Try the following important tips for keto macros to stay healthy and feel great while in ketosis. 1. Don’t consume your protein first. It’s easy to overeat protein, which will result in an insulin spike. Aim for 3 to 6 ounces of protein per meal. Be sure to consume enough protein to prevent your liver from breaking down your muscles to create glycogen for fuel. 2. Eat your vegetables first. Aim for 7 to 10 cups of vegetables daily. 3. Adjust fat consumption based on how you feel. Reduce your fat intake if you feel full and bloated after a meal. If you feel hungry soon after a meal, increase the amount. 4. Keep your net carb intake between 20 and 50 grams daily. To calculate net carbs, subtract the grams of fiber from the total carbs. Beware of hidden carbs, especially in restaurant foods. 5. Consume high-quality food. Look for wild-caught or grass-fed protein. Use organic vegetables and high-quality fats like avocados and coconut oil.
