Ozempic is a diabetes drug that’s hailed by many as a weight loss wonder. Over the course of a year, Mary Morgan Mills says she paid a telehealth company nearly $4,000 for what was described as a "generic Ozempic," only to realize it didn't work. Some telehealth companies sell a so-called generic version of Ozempic with a key ingredient called semaglutide. In a statement, Novo Nordisk, the maker of Ozempic says it is the only company in the U.S. with FDA-approved including Ozempic, Wegovy and Rybelsus, products containing the drug's active ingredient semaglutide.
