AASECT (American Association of Sexual Educators, Counselors, and Therapists) Directory: Discussing what causes & how to cure female low sex drive / female low libido has been requested multiple times by women of all ages. I’ve been hesitant to cover the topic because libido is very multifaceted, & I knew I couldn’t give generalized advice for all women. 👋 Check out the introductory video in this series, here: So, I am making a series to better cover the different factors that can affect libido! I am trying a new angle with this content—giving you knowledge, resources, & structured ideas to help you discover your specific low libido trigger, & (hopefully!) therefore, give you some direction in treating it 🤗 😸 Check meowt on instagram: This series includes: 1️⃣ Medications: 2️⃣ Your Physical Body: 3️⃣ Hormones, in two parts: → Understanding The Endocrine System & The Sex Hormones: → How The Sex Hormones Affect Libido & How To Interpret Hormone Test Results: 4️⃣ Psychology: 5️⃣ Relationships: you’re watching it 😊 6️⃣ Lifestyle: Timestamps / Table of Contents: ✩ Intro: 0:00 ✩ What Type Of Sex Drive Do I Have? 2:49 Spontaneous-, responsive-, or a combination-type sex drive are all normal, valid, and healthy! 📚 Dr. Nagoski’s “Come As You Are” Book: (affiliate link!) → If I wasn’t ready to talk with my husband about this topic yet, I’d set aside a scheduled time to explore if arousal elicits desire solo, via masturbation. My intention would be to objectively observe my response to physical stimulation—although I didn’t feel the mental desire to have sex before I started masturbating, does that desire arise after I experience physical stimulation? → If I was ready to talk with my husband, I’d propose that we schedule a time to explore my sex drive together where the intention is just that—exploration. I might say something like, “It’s important to me that you know that I realize we aren’t having sex as often as we used to. I miss that part of our relationship, & I’ve been thinking about how to remedy it. Did you know there are different types of sex drives? I think I might have a responsive type, where I feel desire after I feel physical arousal. I’d like to explore this possibility together. Would you be open to scheduling a time for us to be physical together, where the intention is to see how I respond, instead of the encounter ending in penetrative sex?” → Finally, if I wasn’t feeling comfortable exploring solo or with my husband, I’d propose that we seek the guidance of a professional. I might say something like, “I miss how into each other we used to be sexually, & while I think it may have to do with the type of sex drive I have, I’m not sure. I’d like to seek the help of a professional together. I really miss our sex life, & I want us to figure out how to get it back, I just feel like I need external guidance. How do you feel about that?” ✩ How Do I Define Good Sex? 6:52 → “It’s important to me that you know that I realize we aren’t having sex as often as we used to. I miss that part of our relationship, and I’ve been thinking about how to remedy it. I’ve been embarrassed to bring it up to you before, but I find *these specific sexy things* really turn me on. I’d like to have sex together where we try those things. What do you think about that, & is there anything specific you’d like to try together?” ✉️ Remember, if a conversation feels too difficult, you can always write your partner/s a letter! Or, you can encourage your partner to write about how he/she defines good sex, & the two of you can read each other’s definitions 🤗 ✩ Does Context Affect My Sex Drive? 9:38 ✩ Am I Sexually Attracted To My Partner? 11:52 ✩ Closing Thoughts: 14:27 ✩ Outro: 15:47 Remember, materials and content available in this channel, Pelvic Empowerment, are intended as general information only, and should not be substituted for medical advice, prescription, diagnosis, or treatment.
