How can #CBD #oil benefit #Horses? Read our full guide on CBD oil and horses: Lately, it has been found that the use of CBD oil, can provide horse owners with significant health benefits while improving their overall health condition. It can help your equines deal with stress, pain, sleep disorders, Cushing diseases, and other problems related to the nervous system. Here are a few of the benefits: - Pain Relief - Improve Digestion (i.e. relieve nausea and stimulate appetite) - Reduce inflammation - Improve flexibility and movement - Improve cardiovascular health - Shiny coat, mane, and tail - Stall rest - Improve appetite - Separation anxiety/ Herd-bound - Calm anxiety Insects Insects around the barns especially in summer time are a menace. Whether they are looking for a blood meal or just to be an annoyance, these persistent insects always seem to manage to find our horse. Biting midges, often referred to as sand flies, punkies or no-see-ums, is a group of small blood-feeding flies. They are found most actively feeding at the hours around dawn and dusk. In horses, the biting midge has been known to cause “sweet itch,” a hypersensitivity to the saliva in the insect bite, which is a type of chronic and seasonal skin irritation. Control measures for biting midges are limited to on-animal fly products to kill or repel them from feeding and eliminating breeding habitats where possible. The main symptoms of midge bite allergy are intense scratching and areas of injury on your horse from repeated skin biting. Your horse will do whatever he can to scratch the itch including rubbing his face or head on buildings and fences. Some of the other most reported signs of midge bite allergy include: - Biting at areas of skin - Thickened skin on ears, mane, tail, face, and belly from biting - Scaling rash at bite sites - Redness and inflammation - Hair loss in affected areas What can you do? Inspect your horse’s top line, ears, belly and tail base area for evidence of midget bites. If your horse’s skin looks inflamed in these areas (hair loss, dandruff, dermatitis, sores, redness, swelling), or your horse appears greatly bothered by these insects (itching, off feed, excessively anxious or upset), contact your vet with your findings and concerns. Treatment may be required. You can use CBD products both directly on the skin of the affected areas and as a daily supplement. Anecdotal evidence has shown in some cases when our horse ingests CBD daily, he changes skin odour and there are less insects seen around him. Ingesting CBD can also help calm you horse from the itchiness. You can use a CBD balm directly on the affected areas and inflammation is visible. How to Pick a CBD Supplement for Your Horse Don’t even think about buying a product that isn’t created according to good manufacturing principles (GMP), and doesn’t have third-party lab certifications of analysis for each batch of oil. When selecting from a list of “vetted” CBD goods, consider how “user-friendly” the product and company are. Do they have a track record – and do they have experience with animals? Several studies have found that many commercially available CBD products don’t provide the amount they claim and that a surprising number of them are simply hemp cooking oil. Be wary of the buyer! Better businesses will offer money-back guarantees on their products and will be ready to answer your concerns about the biomass source and extraction procedure. Either ethanol or CO2 extraction can produce good results; however, it should be avoided to use poor extracting methods. Full-spectrum CBD oil should have a subtle herbal scent and flavor, not a chemical aftertaste. Look for a product with a high potency of between 20mg/mL and 60mg/mL for horses (see the end of this article). Most CBD oils are sold in 10ml bottles because of the high cost of good quality hemp extract – to keep the individual product cost down. If your horse is responsive to the low end of the dose, a 10ml bottle will last you for 4-5 weeks. Higher potencies allow you more testing in order to locate your horse’s “sweet spot”. #cbd gummies for headache #passion fruit cbd gummies #cbd gummie no thc #cbd gummies and ed #natures boost cbd gummys
