My weight loss journey and 8th week on the weight loss medication Wegovy/Ozempic (semaglutide). This week I discuss my life update including my continued issues with battling a major depressive disorder episode and continued mental health, my appointment with a health psychologist, intensive outpatient therapy for binge eating, no exercise at the gym, poor eating habits/diet and binge eating, and weight gain this week. Wegovy (semaglutide) is an injectable prescription medicine (diabetes version Ozempic) used for those with excess weight/obesity to help them lose weight. It is very similar to other medications on the market such as Saxenda/Victoza (liraglutide), Mounjaro (trizepatide), Trulicity (dulaglutide), Byetta/Bydureon (exenatide), and Adlyxin (lixisenatide). Your brain gets signals from different places in your body. Some of these signals are called appetite hormones that help regulate how much food you eat. Wegovy® works similarly to one of these natural appetite hormones, so you eat fewer calories, and lose weight.
