Do You Need Barcodes on Your Private Label CBD Products? [ws_A4nZoi5J]

If your private label CBD products will be sold in retail stores, then you will want barcodes on your products. If they will not be sold in retail stores, then you don't need barcodes. Learn more about barcodes from Todd Smith, Co-Founder of Joy Organics. Summary So let's talk about barcodes. First of all what is a barcode? A barcode is the code that you see on most of the products that you have in your home. If you've been to a grocery store you can see the barcode there. If you've been to a grocery store and you put all of your groceries there and they run them through. They are scanning the barcode. That barcode identifies the product. This product right here as an example if you scan this barcode it doesn't matter where you would scan this in the United States, it's going to show up as a Joy Organics 25mg soft gel. So it's a way for people to track inventory. You send product to a retail location, they then check in your 12 bottles of 25mg soft gels and then when they scan it now their inventory shows 11 bottles and so it's a way for stores to better manage inventory. It's a quick way for stores to check people out rather than to enter a price for every product. And so, do you need a barcode? Well the question is are your products going to be sold in retail stores? If they are then you need barcodes. If their not then you don't need barcodes. If you don't need a barcode then you're great. You just come to us, we will design your label without barcodes and you're good to go. If you decide in the future that you want to add barcodes you just let us know and we modify your label design to include a barcode. Now if you're going to have barcodes on your labels you need to buy the barcodes so just very simply you just type in barcodes in Google and you'll see a list of companies. I believe the company we use was GS1 if I'm correct and very simply we went in we bought a group of barcodes we assigned a product to each code and then very simply we then had the code designed for the label. As an example if you were to just buy barcodes you're not going to get them this size. You're going to get barcodes that might be square looking. I'm not sure if we've got any here but the traditional ones are kind of like a square barcode that really doesn't work on any of our labels. And so we have to redesign all the barcodes so that they properly fit on the labels and we make sure that they are the right size so they are scanned because the last thing you want are barcodes that you sell to a store your product and they can't scan it because your barcode is too small. When we design our labels we know what size barcodes need to be. We then make sure that the barcodes you provide us are the right size. Now if you do want barcodes on your product what we need from you is we need a list of your barcode numbers and the name of the product next to it. We then have a special designer that we work with that designs barcodes who will make the barcodes for you the exact right size for the products that we're making for you. We do charge $50 per barcode for this resizing fee and we have to send it to one designer, get it designed we then have to bring it back we have to give it to our in house label team who designs labels to make sure the barcode properly scans and fits within your labels. So this is what you need to know about barcodes. If you're selling at retail you need barcodes. If your products aren't being sold at retail you don't need barcodes. If you do need barcodes type in barcodes in Google buy the number of barcodes that you need let us know the barcode number the product assigned to that barcode. We'll resize your barcode.
